Snowshoe Mountain, the roads of Pocahontas County and the surrounding counties offer many great rides. Listed below are just a few of the many world-class rides available in and around Snowshoe Mountain

Thursday, July 17th

Bike and Hike Tour:
Meet at Brigham Center at 8a, departs at 8:30a
Join Snowshoe guides as they lead you through some of Pocahontas County’s most spectacular local attraction. You will leave Snowshoe Mountain and head out to the Scenic Highway which provides breathtaking views of the county. From there you will ride to Cranberry Glades Botanical Area where you will hike the half-mile boardwalk to observe the largest area of bogs or acidic wetlands. Then it’s onto the Falls of Hills Creek to view the three waterfalls that cascade 25, 45 and 63 feet. The first 1,700 feet of trail is paved to the upper falls viewing platform. The reminder of the trail is more strenuous with stairways and boardwalks leading to the lower falls. After the hike back from the falls you will continue your leisurely ride to Beartown State Park a natural area of 107 acres located on the eastern summit of Droop Mountain Battlefield State Park. The park is noted for its massive boulders, overhanging cliffs and unusual rock formations, which are comprised of Pottsville Sandstone formed during the Pennsylvanian Age. A boardwalk allows easy access and interpretive signs provide insight into the fascinating ecology of this area. From Beartown it’s onto Watoga State Park the largest state park in West Virginia where you will stop for lunch. Once your belly is full we will head to Cass Scenic Railroad where you can stay and ride a steam driven locomotive or head back to Snowshoe. If you are going on the dinner train be sure to take your tickets on this ride.
